The role balances drafting and negotiating construction and design contracts with supporting or handling dispute resolution and construction litigation.
Work will involve frequent use of industry-standard contract forms (AIA, AGC, DBIA), advising on contract terms and risk allocation, and collaborating with practice colleagues to manage public and private construction matters. The position offers substantive responsibility and mentoring within a collaborative team environment.
- Minimum 3 years' experience handling construction and design contracts and related litigation at a law firm or in-house legal department
- Active bar admission and residency in the state where the attorney will be based
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills; experience with AIA, AGC, and DBIA contract forms
- Experience supporting or managing construction-related claims or litigation
- Excellent verbal and written communication, strong client-service orientation, and attention to detail
