Short-term interim role for an experienced non-contentious construction lawyer to support large projects across the UAE. Assignments are typically six months (full-time) in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, with some flexibility depending on the engagement.

The role will focus on drafting and negotiating construction and project documentation (including FIDIC and bespoke forms), preparing O&M and FM agreements, and advising on construction law issues across power, infrastructure, buildings and related sectors. Opportunities include placements with government entities, energy clients and advisory teams supporting regional infrastructure programmes.

This is a consultancy-style assignment model: you will work as a self-directed consultant on defined projects, with access to firm resources and colleague support while managing your own professional development and delivery on assignment.

  • Minimum 8 years' post-qualification experience in non-contentious construction and infrastructure work
  • Recent experience drafting and negotiating FIDIC and bespoke construction contracts, plus O&M/FM documentation
  • At least four years' PQE at a firm ranked highly for construction/projects; in-house experience in energy, transport or infrastructure preferred
  • Experience working in the Middle East and Arabic language skills advantageous
  • Consultant mindset: adaptable, proactive, and able to manage assignments independently
  • Valid practising certificate or equivalent permitting practice in the region
