Appellate Counsel — California Offices (Los Angeles)

Top-tier US law firm seeks an Appellate Counsel (Counsel or Senior Counsel level) to join its California appellate team, working out of the Los Angeles office with collaboration across multiple California locations. The role focuses on appellate litigation across state and federal courts, handling briefing, research, and oral-argument preparation.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative litigation platform, supporting trial teams, drafting merits and preservation briefs, supervising appellate record development, and, where appropriate, arguing appeals. The position offers substantive appellate work, client-facing responsibility, and mentorship opportunities for more junior lawyers.

• JD from an accredited law school and active California bar admission.
• Established appellate litigation experience with a strong record of drafting briefs and legal research; experience preparing or delivering oral argument preferred.
• Excellent writing, analytical, and briefing skills; ability to synthesize complex records and legal issues.
• Experience working collaboratively with trial teams and mentoring junior attorneys across multiple offices.
