An established banking & finance team in Manchester is hiring an associate to support lender-side work for major UK banks and alternative finance providers. The role involves advising on a range of facilities and financing structures across acquisition finance, property finance, asset‑based lending, restructurings and refinancings.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities include drafting and negotiating facility agreements (bilateral and syndicated), leading and supporting transactions, attending client meetings, project‑managing deals and supervising junior team members. The role will also involve coordination with overseas counsel on cross‑border matters.

There is scope to develop client relationships with bankers across the North West and to support business development initiatives regionally. The team offers exposure to complex lending work and the opportunity to contribute to the practice’s growth.

Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent) with experience in banking & finance transactions.
Practical experience drafting and negotiating facility agreements and related security documentation.
Experience advising lenders (including high‑street banks and alternative lenders) on acquisition, property, asset‑based and refinancing matters.
Strong drafting, negotiation and project‑management skills; able to supervise junior lawyers.
Commercial mindset, attention to detail and interest in financial sector developments.
Good IT skills and familiarity with online legal research tools.
