Top-tier international law firm seeks a transactional finance associate to join its Banking & Private Credit practice in Chicago. The team advises arrangers, direct lenders, and private capital providers across syndicated lending, leveraged and acquisition financings, and private credit transactions.

This role focuses on lender-side work across a range of products — first- and second-lien loans, unitranche, mezzanine, asset-based lending, and other private credit structures. The group handles complex, cross-border financings and works closely with capital markets, M&A and restructuring colleagues.

Minimum of 2 years' transactional experience in private credit, leveraged finance or acquisition finance (lender-side preferred)
Strong drafting and negotiation skills on credit agreements, security documents and intercreditor arrangements
Experience with syndicated loan documentation and direct-lending structures
J.D. and admission to practice in relevant U.S. jurisdiction or ability to become admitted
Collaborative team-player with ability to manage deal timelines and interact with sophisticated lender clients
