Associate — Clinical Negligence (Private Healthcare) — Birmingham

Join a national healthcare disputes team as an Associate specialising in private insured clinical negligence and medical malpractice defence. The role is based in Birmingham with options to work from Sheffield or Newcastle on a hybrid basis and will focus on defending claims for private hospitals, clinicians and related insurers.

The team handles a broad range of clinical negligence matters, including high‑stakes and sensitive claims, and provides advisory support on insurance coverage, regulatory issues and inquest/judicial review work. You will work alongside experienced litigators supporting both advisory and contentious instructions.

• 3–5 years' UK-qualified solicitor or CILEX equivalent with relevant clinical negligence experience
• Proven experience managing clinical negligence or medical malpractice claims, including client contact and hearings attendance
• Knowledge of insurance and coverage issues relevant to private healthcare defendants
• Strong attention to detail, ability to handle sensitive/high‑profile matters and willingness to work in a hybrid, multi-office team
