Apply in confidence →Top-tier US firm is hiring a mid-level associate for the transactional Copyright & Technology practice in the Bay Area. The role sits on the commercial/transactional side of the copyright group and works with technology, digital media and content-driven companies.
The position focuses on negotiating and drafting bespoke commercial agreements—content and data licenses, content acquisition, strategic partnerships and dispute settlements—rather than M&A or financing work. The team advises on the intersection of digital technology and copyright law and handles matters ranging from counseling and compliance to high‑stakes commercial licensing and dispute resolution.
- Minimum of 4 years’ post-qualification experience in technology transactions, IP licensing, or comparable transactional practice.
- Demonstrable experience drafting and negotiating complex, bespoke commercial and licensing agreements.
- Comfort advising on copyright-related business and commercial issues for technology, media or content clients; entertainment/music experience a plus.
- Strong written and oral advocacy, client counseling and project-management skills for principal‑side deal work.
