Apply in confidence →Multi-office U.S. law firm is seeking a team-oriented Employee Benefits associate to join its ERISA/benefits group in Cleveland (opportunities also exist in Denver, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis). The role handles a broad range of employee benefits matters across defined contribution and defined benefit plans, ESOPs, welfare plans, and executive compensation programs, and will provide transactional support for mergers and acquisitions.
The position requires someone comfortable drafting plan documents and memos, advising on ERISA and related tax issues, and coordinating with transactional and tax colleagues. The firm offers a competitive compensation package and standard employee benefits.
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience working on ERISA, employee benefit, and executive compensation matters
- Experience drafting and advising on defined contribution/defined benefit plans, ESOPs, welfare plans and executive compensation arrangements
- Strong written and oral communication, research, organization, time-management, and project-management skills
- Familiarity with benefits issues in M&A transactions and related tax rules
