Associate — Environmental & Workplace Health and Safety (Chicago)

National law firm seeking a junior associate to join a busy Environmental and Workplace Health & Safety practice in the Chicago office. The role offers exposure across environmental media and statutes, handling litigation, transactional diligence, regulatory counseling, and permitting matters for clients in multiple industries and jurisdictions.

Successful candidates will be integrated into a collaborative team and develop into a 360° environmental lawyer, working on enforcement defense, compliance counseling, transactional support, and workplace health & safety issues.

Estimated starting salary range: $235,000–$260,000 (actual offer determined by experience and qualifications).

• 1–3 years of post-qualification experience in environmental law, workplace health & safety, or related practice.
• Admission to the Illinois bar required.
• Excellent academic credentials and strong writing, oral communication, and project-management skills.
• Prior government (e.g., EPA or ENRD) or judicial clerkship experience preferred; demonstrated commitment to pro bono work a plus.
