Associate — Health Advisory & Inquest (Belfast)

Join a national health advisory and litigation team as an Associate based in Belfast. You will manage a caseload of inquest and Court of Protection matters (including some advocacy) for public and independent health and social care clients, with work that spans the UK.

The role offers exposure to complex health and social care issues including inquests, serious medical treatment proceedings, mental health and capacity matters, safeguarding, continuing healthcare disputes, information governance and human rights challenges. You will work in a collaborative team providing high-quality advisory and litigation services.

• Experience in Court of Protection work (health and welfare applications, MCA challenges) and/or inquests; advocacy and case management experience desirable
• Familiarity with health and social care advisory issues (mental health, safeguarding, continuing healthcare, funding/access disputes) is an advantage
• Strong drafting and presentation skills; ability to produce clear written advice and deliver training
• Organised, client-focused, able to manage competing priorities and meet financial/time recording targets
• Comfortable with standard office IT and case management systems; good understanding of the NHS
