Seeking a junior- to mid-level IP associate to join a national practice focused on computational biology and data-driven life-sciences innovations. The role involves drafting and prosecuting patents and providing strategic portfolio advice for clients in biotech, pharmaceuticals and digital health.

The position requires translating complex scientific concepts into clear patent claims and prosecution strategies across areas such as next-generation sequencing, precision diagnostics, digital health, and AI-assisted drug discovery. Team members will work with attorneys across multiple U.S. offices and collaborate closely with scientific and transactional groups.

  • 2–4 years patent prosecution experience in computational biology or related life-sciences disciplines
  • Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, or a related life-sciences field
  • USPTO registration (patent bar) required — candidates must have passed or be prepared to take and pass within the first 12 months
  • Active state bar membership in the office to which you apply
  • Strong legal writing, research, and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate technical concepts to legal and non-technical audiences
