Associate — IP (Patent Litigation), Palo Alto

Experienced patent-litigation associate needed for a busy IP litigation team in Palo Alto. The role involves handling district-court patent cases and post‑grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, with active participation in case strategy, discovery, motions, claim construction, and trial preparation.

Successful candidates will be comfortable taking depositions and standing in court, communicating directly with clients and opposing counsel, and collaborating on teams to develop creative litigation approaches. Technical backgrounds in electrical, mechanical, computer science, or physics are strongly preferred.

• 2–6 years of patent litigation experience (district court and PTAB/post‑grant proceedings)
• Practical experience with discovery, depositions, expert discovery, claim construction, and dispositive/discovery motions
• Comfortable with courtroom and deposition work; client-facing communication skills
• Technical undergraduate or master’s degree preferred (electrical, mechanical, CS, physics)
• Strong legal research and drafting skills; prior law firm IP litigation experience preferred
