Associate (Japan‑qualified) — Corporate — Beijing (overseas office)

International law firm with a major Japan practice is recruiting Japan‑qualified associates to join its Beijing overseas office. The role focuses on cross‑border corporate work supporting outbound Japanese clients and inbound matters for international and local companies.

The position offers day‑to‑day involvement in mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, commercial contracts and related corporate matters, with regular collaboration across regional offices. This is a hands‑on role for candidates seeking broad exposure to multinational transactions and the opportunity to develop expertise in Asia‑focused Japan work.

• Qualified attorney admitted in Japan (required).
• Experience on cross‑border corporate matters (M&A, JV, commercial agreements) in a law firm or in‑house setting.
• Strong Japanese and English language skills; other Asian languages an advantage.
• Readiness to work in an overseas office and collaborate across a regional network.
