Apply in confidence →Established intellectual property litigation team in Boston seeks an associate with strong patent-litigation experience and a technical background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or physics. The role involves active courtroom and trial-team participation, direct client interaction, and collaboration with multidisciplinary litigation teams.
You will handle matters in U.S. District Court and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, contributing across the case lifecycle: factual and legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, discovery (including depositions and expert work), claim construction, and trial preparation and support.
- 2–6 years post-qualification experience in patent litigation (U.S. District Court and PTAB/post‑grant proceedings preferred)
- Practical courtroom experience — depositions and trial involvement preferred
- Technical background (undergraduate or master’s in electrical/mechanical engineering, computer science, physics, or similar)
- Strong legal writing, analytical skills, and comfort dealing directly with clients and opposing counsel
- Experience at an IP-focused law firm or comparable practice; ITC experience a plus
