Associate — Patent Prosecution (Life Sciences), San Jose

Midlevel associate position in a San Jose-based intellectual property group focused on life sciences and biotechnology patent prosecution. The role will handle drafting and prosecuting U.S. patent applications and advising on patentability and prosecution strategy for biotech/therapeutics matters.

The team seeks candidates with a strong technical background in life sciences and experience managing prosecution matters. This is an opportunity to join a busy IP practice with exposure to a range of biotechnology clients and technologies.

• 1–5 years of patent prosecution experience, ideally in biotechnology/life sciences.
• Advanced degree in a life sciences field strongly preferred (Ph.D. preferred).
• USPTO registration (patent bar) required, or willingness and ability to sit for and pass the patent bar within the first 12 months of employment.
• Active membership in the California Bar required.
