Leading national law firm in Washington, D.C. seeks an experienced associate to join its prudential bank regulatory practice. The role focuses on counseling U.S. and non‑U.S. banks, bank holding companies, and affiliates on a broad range of prudential regulatory, supervisory and licensing matters.

Typical matters include advice on capital and liquidity, governance and risk‑management requirements, regulatory notices and applications, chartering and licensing, and responses to supervisory examinations and enforcement actions before the Federal Reserve, OCC, FDIC and state banking authorities.

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant post‑qualification experience advising banks, bank holding companies, and financial institutions on U.S. prudential regulation
  • Strong working knowledge of the U.S. prudential regulatory framework and supervisory process (e.g., BHCA, National Bank Act, FDIA, CRA, Volcker Rule and relevant regulations such as Reg W, Reg R, Reg O, Reg K, Reg Y)
  • Experience counseling on capital/liquidity, governance, risk management, investments/affiliate transactions, and M&A or licensing matters involving banks
  • Experience handling regulatory examinations, supervisory findings and enforcement matters before federal and state banking regulators
  • Admission to, or eligibility for prompt admission to, the Washington, D.C. bar
