A Madrid-based role for an associate to join a public law, regulatory and administrative practice focused on energy, infrastructure, project finance and related regulated sectors. The team advises public entities, investors and regulated businesses on regulatory, transactional and contentious matters across Spain and cross-border mandates.

The role involves regulatory due diligence and risk analysis in M&A and investment transactions, support on FDI screening, public procurement and concessions, energy-sector regulatory work, and representation in administrative and regulatory proceedings. You will work on complex, high‑profile matters, drafting legal opinions, filings and memoranda, and supporting senior lawyers in both advisory and contentious work.

This is a collaborative team environment where associates manage matter files, coordinate with junior staff, monitor legislative developments and deliver clear, commercially minded regulatory advice to clients operating in heavily regulated sectors.

3–5 years post‑qualification experience in public law, administrative/regulatory law, or equivalent regulatory role
Demonstrable experience in at least two of: public procurement & concessions, infrastructure/project public law, energy regulation, FDI screening, or administrative litigation
Experience on transactional and/or contentious regulatory matters; comfort with due diligence, regulatory filings and administrative proceedings
Excellent research and drafting skills, strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple high‑priority matters
Bilingual Spanish and English (professional working level) and ability to work in fast‑paced, client‑facing environments
