Associate — Specialist Liability (Birmingham or Manchester)

Experienced insurance defence Associate opportunity in a national specialist liability team, based in either Birmingham or Manchester. The role focuses on defending complex employer’s liability and public liability claims, with a particular emphasis on stress, harassment and abuse matters arising for public‑sector and emergency services clients.

The team handles a mix of high‑value, technically demanding files for insurers, TPAs, self‑insured organisations and blue‑light clients. You will work collaboratively with a national group of specialists and external counsel, with opportunities for career progression and secondments.

• Minimum circa 5 years' PQE handling defendant liability claims (EL/PL).
• Proven experience with complex/high‑value stress, harassment or abuse matters; familiarity with blue‑light/emergency services claims desirable.
• Strong client‑facing skills and experience dealing with experts, counsel and witnesses.
• Track record of meeting hours and billing targets; attention to technical detail and collaborative working style.
