Associate — Transportation Litigation, Chicago

Mid-level litigation associate opportunity in Chicago within a national firm’s transportation practice. The team defends trucking, freight carriers, brokers and insurers on interstate and intrastate matters, including accident reconstruction, ECM/messaging data, DOT compliance, negligent hiring/retention and hours-of-service issues.

Successful candidates will handle discovery and initial pleadings, draft and argue motions, and take and defend depositions. The role requires strong writing and analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple matters, and comfort working independently and as part of a team. Hybrid work arrangement.

Target experience: 3–6 years post-qualification; admitted to practice in Illinois (Michigan admission a plus). Salary range: USD 135,000–150,000 per year; benefits included.

• 3–6 years of insurance-defense or transportation litigation experience (heavy trucking/tractor-trailer, cargo/freight carriers preferred)
• Admission to the Illinois bar required; Michigan admission a plus
• Proven experience with discovery, motion practice, and depositions
• Strong drafting, analytical skills and ability to manage a busy caseload
