Short-term (6-month) full-time hybrid role for an experienced banking and finance lawyer to support a major financial services client in Melbourne. The role focuses on structuring, drafting, negotiating and executing a broad range of lending and financing transactions.

You will provide commercially focused legal and regulatory advice across lending, customer and transactional matters, working closely with bankers, credit and risk teams, product owners and senior business stakeholders. The position requires strong transaction management and the ability to drive matters to close under tight timeframes.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in banking & finance (private practice or in-house)
  • Proven experience drafting, negotiating and executing lending and financing documentation
  • Knowledge of Australian banking and financial services regulatory framework (eg. Corporations Act, Banking Code, unfair contract terms)
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and transaction management skills
  • Current Australian practising certificate and right to work in Australia
