Join a global law firm’s Risk & Compliance team on a 12-month full-time contract based in Brisbane (hybrid). The role sits within the Client Commitments function and focuses on managing firm-wide client contract terms, compliance queries and commercial risk for engagements.

You will review and negotiate client-drafted and firm engagement contracts (outside counsel guidelines, NDAs, framework agreements, engagement letters), advise fee-earners on terms and risk, and work with other internal teams to ensure consistency of approach to client commitments, audits and remediation.

This is a business-facing, commercially minded role that requires clear, pragmatic legal advice, strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to manage multiple matters across offices and time zones.

Legal qualification and prior experience providing commercial contract advice.
Experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating client-drafted contracts, engagement letters and outside counsel guidelines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable advising fee-earners and negotiating with external parties.
Discretion handling confidential matters, strong problem-solving and commercial acumen; ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
Experience in compliance or risk management advantageous.
