Join a global law firm’s Risk & Compliance team on a 12-month full-time contract based in Brisbane (hybrid). The role sits within the Client Commitments function and focuses on managing firm-wide client contract terms, compliance queries and commercial risk for engagements.

You will review and negotiate client-drafted and firm engagement contracts (outside counsel guidelines, NDAs, framework agreements, engagement letters), advise fee-earners on terms and risk, and work with other internal teams to ensure consistency of approach to client commitments, audits and remediation.

This is a business-facing, commercially minded role that requires clear, pragmatic legal advice, strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to manage multiple matters across offices and time zones.

  • Legal qualification and prior experience providing commercial contract advice.
  • Experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating client-drafted contracts, engagement letters and outside counsel guidelines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable advising fee-earners and negotiating with external parties.
  • Discretion handling confidential matters, strong problem-solving and commercial acumen; ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in compliance or risk management advantageous.
