Apply in confidence →Short-term (12 month) Advisor / Legal Advisor role within a firm's Client Commitments team in Sydney (hybrid). The role is global in scope and focuses on reviewing and negotiating client-drafted and firm engagement contracts, advising fee-earners on client terms and ensuring compliance with contractual commitments.
The role works closely with partners, fee-earners and cross‑functional teams across offices to manage client terms, respond to compliance queries and support business readiness for process or policy changes. The team takes a commercially minded approach, balancing risk mitigation with practical client service.
- Legal qualification with experience in commercial contract review, drafting and negotiation.
- Experience with client-drafted engagement terms, NDAs, framework agreements or outside counsel guidelines preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to liaise with partners and fee-earners at all levels.
- Good commercial judgment, problem-solving ability and discretion handling confidential matters.
- Experience in risk & compliance or in-house/firm compliance teams advantageous.
