We are seeking an experienced compensation and benefits attorney to join a national practice group focused on retirement and health & welfare plans. The role centers on advising employers on tax-qualified retirement plans, ERISA compliance, plan design and administration, and related regulatory matters.

Day-to-day work includes drafting plan documents and disclosures, handling compliance testing, preparing IRS and DOL filings, responding to audits, and managing correction and compliance matters. Transactional work advising on benefit issues in mergers, acquisitions and other corporate matters is a regular component. The team offers a comprehensive benefits package and supportive hybrid/remote options depending on office location.

At least 6 years post-qualification experience advising on tax-qualified retirement plans and health & welfare plans (ERISA).
Proven experience with plan design, administration, drafting plan documents and participant disclosures.
Experience with compliance testing, IRS and Department of Labor filings/audits, and correction processes.
Relevant transactional experience advising on benefit plan issues in M&A and other transactions; ESOP and plan asset rules experience is a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication, analytical skills, and strong academic credentials.
