Leading Compensation & Benefits team in Los Angeles seeks an experienced attorney to focus on tax-qualified retirement plans and health & welfare plans. The role emphasizes ERISA compliance, plan design and administration, compliance testing, and related regulatory work.

Responsibilities include drafting plan documents and disclosures, handling IRS and Department of Labor filings and audits, advising on correction matters, and counseling on benefit plan issues in transactional contexts such as M&A. Experience with ESOP transactions and ERISA plan asset issues is a plus.

The expected annual pay for this position is $390,000+. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement-related offerings, generous parental leave, and firm-paid basic life/AD&D and disability coverage.

  • Minimum 6 years of post-qualification experience advising on tax-qualified retirement plans and health & welfare plans (ERISA-focused)
  • Demonstrated experience with plan design, administration, drafting plan documents and disclosures, and compliance testing
  • Experience handling IRS and DOL filings, audits, and correction matters; transactional benefits work (M&A) preferred
  • Strong writing, oral communication and analytical skills; excellent academic credentials
