Join a national legal team as a Costs Draftsperson / Costs Lawyer focused on Court of Protection matters. The role sits within a growing costs function and involves preparing bills of costs for assessment, advising clients, and providing technical support across the business.

Typical duties include drafting inter partes and inter partes bills where required, liaising with fee earners and clients, managing a personal caseload to deadlines, and contributing to team training and process improvement. The role offers hybrid working flexibility subject to team needs.

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in costs drafting (in-house or with an external supplier).
  • Basic knowledge of legal procedures and strong attention to detail.
  • Proven competence with legal IT systems and time-recording processes.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines, prioritise workload, and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional telephone manner.
  • Desirable: ACL qualification or ILEX Part 1 Year 1; experience with Court of Protection matters.
