Experienced employee benefits attorney sought to join a national employee benefits & tax team, focusing on health and welfare plan work. The role centers on counseling employers and plan fiduciaries on regulatory compliance and transactional matters related to health and welfare arrangements.

Typical responsibilities include advising on ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and Affordable Care Act compliance; reviewing and negotiating vendor and third‑party administrator agreements; and addressing HIPAA privacy and related issues. The position offers a long‑term practice role within a collegial team and supports hybrid/remote arrangements for candidates who are admitted in states where the firm maintains offices.

  • JD and active state bar admission (must be admitted or able to obtain admission in the state of the chosen office)
  • Approximately 8+ years of employee benefits experience, preferably from a mid‑to‑large law firm
  • Substantive experience with ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, the Affordable Care Act, and related federal benefits law
  • Experience drafting/reviewing vendor and third‑party administrator agreements and advising on HIPAA privacy matters
  • LLM in Employee Benefits or equivalent specialized training is desirable
