Growing Cyber/Data/Privacy practice in a national technology-focused firm is seeking an experienced associate to join the New York office. The group advises a broad range of clients across technology, life sciences, financial services and media on privacy, cybersecurity and data protection matters.

Work will be advisory-focused and may include compliance counseling (CCPA/CPRA, GDPR and other privacy regimes), privacy and security aspects of corporate and commercial transactions, drafting and negotiating data processing agreements and privacy schedules, and incident preparedness and response. Candidates should be comfortable taking lead roles on client matters and working collaboratively across offices.

The team values strong analytical and drafting skills, demonstrable client-facing experience, and a commitment to developing expertise in privacy and data security law.

4–7 yearsʼ post-qualification experience in privacy, cybersecurity or related technology practice (law firm or in-house)
Practical experience with CCPA/CPRA, GDPR and other privacy regimes
Experience with data breach/incident response planning and handling
Transaction-focused experience: privacy due diligence, data processing agreements and privacy schedules
Excellent analytical, drafting and client communication skills; strong academic record
