Senior leadership role within the Office of General Counsel for a top-tier Australian firm. You will act as a key delegate to the General Counsel, providing strategic legal advice and operational leadership across the in‑house legal team.

The role has flexibility to be based in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Brisbane and focuses on reviewing and negotiating a broad range of third‑party contracts (technology, procurement, leasing, subscriptions, events and sponsorships) while ensuring contractual arrangements reflect the organisation’s policies on data security, brand protection and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include leading day‑to‑day OGC operations, acting as an escalation point for complex or high‑risk matters, developing responses to legal and regulatory developments, supporting governance around contract execution, and coaching and developing the legal team.

  • Minimum 8 years’ qualified legal experience.
  • Proven experience in a similar senior in‑house or law firm legal role, ideally within professional services.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills across contracts, agreements and deeds.
  • Experience providing commercial, pragmatic advice to senior stakeholders and managing competing commercial and risk priorities.
