Senior leadership role in the Office of General Counsel at a leading international full‑service law firm. The role will act as a key delegate to the General Counsel, providing strategic legal advice and operational leadership across the firm’s legal function.

Flexible Australian base: Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Brisbane. Core responsibilities include managing review and negotiation of a wide range of third‑party contracts (technology, procurement, leasing, subscriptions, events and sponsorships), ensuring contracts reflect firm policies (data security, brand protection, confidentiality), and acting as a central escalation point for complex, sensitive or high‑risk matters.

The role also involves overseeing day‑to‑day OGC operations, coaching and developing team members, contributing to contract management innovation, and monitoring legal and regulatory developments that affect the business.

  • Minimum 8 years' post‑admission legal experience.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Excellent drafting skills across contracts, agreements and deeds, and strong commercial advisory capability.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and leadership skills, including coaching and supervising junior lawyers.
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational/project management skills, and excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Right to work in Australia (must hold necessary visas/approvals if not an Australian citizen or permanent resident).
