Apply in confidence →Mid-level associate opportunity to join a national employment-focused practice advising private and public employers on employee benefits, executive compensation, and health & welfare plan matters. The role involves substantial client contact and cross-disciplinary work across plan design, compliance, and transaction-related compensation issues.
Work will include drafting and negotiating executive employment and compensation arrangements, structuring equity and incentive programs, advising on IRC Sections 409A and 280G and ERISA-related matters, and supporting benefits aspects of M&A and corporate transactions. The team handles counseling, regulatory interaction, and plan operation and compliance work for a varied employer base.
- Juris Doctor and active licensure in the state of employment; must remain in good standing.
- Hands-on experience with employee benefits and executive compensation matters, including drafting and negotiating compensation arrangements and incentive programs.
- Familiarity with ERISA, ACA, COBRA and relevant Internal Revenue Code provisions (experience with Sections 409A and 280G preferred).
- Strong written and oral communication, project-management skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Preferred: prior law-firm experience on employee benefits/executive compensation; exposure to securities compliance, qualified plan design, fiduciary/investment issues, and cross-border compensation arrangements.
