Top-ranked employment team in the North is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its Leeds office, with flexibility to be based in Manchester or Nottingham. You will handle a broad private‑sector caseload advising employers across sectors including retail, sport, manufacturing, financial services and healthcare.

The role combines tribunal litigation, day-to-day HR advisory work, TUPE and redundancy projects, corporate transactional support and executive severance/settlement matters. There are regular opportunities to supervise junior lawyers and to take part in business development and marketing activities as the team grows.

The team provides pragmatic HR-focused advice across the full employment lifecycle and works closely with clients’ HR functions. This role suits a commercially minded employment lawyer who wants visible client contact, varied work and career progression in a supportive team.

  • 4–8 years' post‑qualification employment experience (national or strong regional practice preferred)
  • Proven tribunal litigation and day‑to‑day HR advisory experience; exposure to TUPE, restructurings and executive severances
  • Strong technical employment law skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload and supervise junior staff
  • Commercial mindset with appetite for business development and client relationship building
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills; ability to work under pressure
