Apply in confidence →Join a national Employment & Labour team as an associate advising and representing employers across a broad range of workplace law matters. The role offers exposure to both established corporate clients and emerging growth/tech start-ups, with work spanning individual employment issues, collective labour matters and strategic HR risk advice.
You will advise on matters such as employment contracts and executive compensation, dismissals and wrongful/constructive dismissal claims, workplace investigations, human rights and accommodation, occupational health and safety, pay and employment equity, and collective bargaining and grievance arbitration. The team emphasizes practical, results-oriented advice and collaborative mentoring.
Positions are available in Toronto or Ottawa. The hiring process uses an online application portal; accommodations are available on request during recruitment.
- 3–6 years of employment and labour law experience, preferably gained at a leading law firm.
- Experience advising and representing employers on employment contracts, executive compensation and transaction-related employment issues.
- Experience with dismissals/layoffs, wrongful/constructive dismissal claims, workplace investigations, human rights and accommodations.
- Experience with occupational health & safety, workers’ compensation, pay equity and employment equity issues.
- Experience with collective agreement administration, collective bargaining, certification/decertification and grievance/arbitration processes.
- Superior drafting and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
