Apply in confidence →A national energy practice is seeking an associate with 4–6 years' experience to join its Energy & Natural Resources team in Austin (options also available in Dallas, Houston or a Texas-based virtual office). The role focuses on regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and engagement with organized power markets.
The successful candidate will work on matters involving ERCOT and other ISO/RTO issues, and support power-related transactions and advocacy before state utility commissions. This is a hands-on role that requires strong legal analysis, project management and client-facing communication skills.
Applicants must reside in Texas and hold an active Texas bar license. The team values entrepreneurial, collaborative candidates who can manage multiple matters and provide practical regulatory advice.
- 4–6 years' post-qualification experience in energy regulatory matters
- Active Texas bar membership and residence in Texas
- Experience before the Texas Public Utility Commission and with ERCOT or other ISO/RTO markets
- Experience with power transactions, mergers/acquisitions or utility advocacy preferred
- Strong written and oral communication, client service orientation, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
