The role is open across several U.S. offices and offers the opportunity to work on complex regulatory, permitting, enforcement, and litigation matters for established clients.
The successful candidate will handle compliance counseling, enforcement defense, permitting and regulatory authorizations, and agency rulemaking, working collaboratively on long‑term, precedent‑setting engagements. The team emphasizes mentoring, direct client contact, and a collegial, team-based approach.
- Minimum 4 years' post-qualification experience in environmental law (compliance counseling, enforcement defense, permitting, rulemaking, and/or environmental litigation).
- Experience in private practice, government agency, and/or trade association environments preferred.
- Demonstrated written and oral advocacy skills, strong judgment, responsiveness, and intellectual curiosity.
- Partnership-track commitment; ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams.
- Admission to the Virginia bar preferred and required within one year of joining.
