Environmental Associate — Richmond, VA

Seeking a partnership-track Environmental Associate to join a nationally recognized environmental practice in the Richmond office. The role offers substantive work across compliance counseling, enforcement defense, permitting and regulatory authorizations, agency rulemaking, and related litigation.

The team values collaboration, mentoring and client contact; successful candidates will work on long-term, precedent-setting matters with established clients. The firm seeks a self-motivated attorney with strong judgment, intellectual curiosity, responsiveness, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active bar membership (VA required within one year)
• Approximately 4 years of post-qualification experience in environmental law
• Experience in one or more of: compliance counseling, enforcement defense, environmental litigation, permitting, or agency rulemaking
• Background in private practice, government agency, or trade association preferred; strong writing, advocacy and client-facing skills
