Environmental Associate — Richmond, VA

Seeking a partnership-track environmental associate to join a nationally recognized environmental practice in the Richmond office. The role involves counseling on regulatory compliance, enforcement defense, permitting, agency rulemaking, and related litigation matters across public- and private-sector clients.

The team values collaboration, direct client contact, mentoring, and long-term project work. Successful candidates will handle precedent-setting matters as part of diverse, multidisciplinary teams and will be expected to exercise sound judgment, responsiveness, and strong written and oral advocacy.

• Approximately 4 years of post-qualification experience practicing environmental law in private practice, government, or trade association settings
• Experience in compliance counseling, enforcement defense, permitting, regulatory authorizations, agency rulemaking, and/or related litigation
• Proven written and oral communication skills, intellectual curiosity, good judgment, and ability to work collaboratively on team-based matters
• Virginia bar membership preferred; required within one year of joining the firm
