Top-tier tax practice is seeking an associate with 3–6 years post‑JD experience to join its New York office on the executive compensation and employee benefits team. The role focuses on federal tax aspects of executive compensation, deferred compensation, equity awards and related plan design and compliance work.

Successful candidates will collaborate with colleagues across offices on corporate and transactional matters, provide day‑to‑day counseling to employers, draft and negotiate plan and award documents, and assist on regulatory and compliance issues. The team offers substantive responsibility, close partner mentorship and exposure to a broad set of employer clients.

  • 3–6 years post‑JD experience in executive compensation, employee benefits or tax
  • Juris Doctor and active bar admission or ability to obtain admission
  • Experience drafting compensation plans, equity award agreements and related documentation
  • Knowledge of federal tax rules affecting deferred compensation and equity (and familiarity with ERISA helpful)
  • Strong drafting, analytical and client‑service skills; ability to work collaboratively across teams
