The group advises insurers, private-equity sponsors and other industry participants on regulatory filings, licensure and market entry, holding company compliance, and insurance-related corporate transactions.
The role offers hands-on experience drafting regulatory filings, policies and transactional documents, interacting with state insurance regulators, supporting examinations and administrative proceedings, and advising on compliance programs and risk-mitigation strategies.
Position can be based in any of the firm's U.S. offices and reports into the insurance regulatory team; associates will work closely with senior lawyers and have increasing client contact and responsibility.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and strong academic record
- Admission to practice in the associate’s primary U.S. state office
- 3–5 years' relevant insurance regulatory, compliance or transactional experience
- Working knowledge of state insurance laws and experience with regulatory agencies
- Experience drafting regulatory filings, commercial agreements and corporate documents
- Excellent written and oral communication, strong drafting and research skills, and ability to work independently and with teams
