Top-tier national law firm is seeking an Intellectual Property Associate with 4–6 years of patent drafting and prosecution experience to join one of several U.S. offices. The role focuses on preparing and prosecuting U.S. provisional, utility, and international patent applications and supporting strategic patent-portfolio management.

Offices hiring for this role include Boston, New York, Pittsburgh, Princeton (NJ), and Washington, D.C. The firm values strong academic credentials, excellent written and oral communication, and the ability to provide patentability opinions and counsel on prosecution strategy.

  • Juris Doctor (JD) and active USPTO registration required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field required; advanced degree a plus.
  • 4–6 years of patent drafting and prosecution experience, including provisional, utility, and international filings.
  • Experience preparing patentability opinions and managing prosecution strategy and patent portfolios.
  • Admission/licensure to practice in the state of the chosen office and ability to satisfy local bar requirements.
  • Strong academic record and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; sponsorship likely not available.
