Flexible 12-month interim role within the competitive law team of a leading international law firm’s flexible-resourcing division. The role will support a major financial‑services client on a range of competition, regulatory and compliance matters during a maternity secondment.

Responsibilities include providing strategic competition-law advice on commercial projects and transactions, supporting CMA/FCA/EC market studies and investigations, handling internal and external competition investigations and litigation, and engaging with regulators on alleged breaches of market orders.

The role offers access to firm resources and know-how, regular engagement with a sponsoring partner while on assignment, and inclusion in the firm’s training and networking opportunities.

Qualified solicitor with demonstrable experience in UK and EU competition law gained in private practice or in‑house.
Proven experience engaging with UK/EU competition authorities and financial regulators (CMA, FCA, EC) on investigations or market studies.
Strong technical knowledge of competition law, investigations and regulatory processes; comfortable advising on transactional and litigation matters.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
Right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
