Apply in confidence →Short-term (typically six-month), full-time interim role for a senior compliance and regulatory lawyer based in Abu Dhabi (occasional Dubai opportunities). Assignments sit within major financial, industrial/energy or healthcare organisations and focus on building, enhancing and operating compliance programmes.
Typical responsibilities include advising on AML and sanctions frameworks, designing controls and monitoring, leading complex internal investigations, supporting regulatory engagement, and implementing remediation and regulatory change programmes. Other work can include drafting codes of conduct and ethics policies, conducting enterprise risk assessments, designing third‑party and M&A due diligence protocols, and managing whistleblowing frameworks and training.
These roles are delivered via an established legal consulting platform that provides assignment support, access to senior legal resources and training, and flexible working arrangements for experienced consultants.
- Minimum c.7 years’ post‑qualification experience in Compliance/Regulatory/Ethics (top‑tier firm and/or in‑house preferred)
- Proven experience with AML, sanctions, internal investigations, regulatory engagement and compliance programme design
- Experience in Financial Services, Industrial/Energy or Healthcare desirable; exposure to UAE/GCC regimes and Arabic language skills an advantage
- Consultant mindset — self‑directed, adaptable, and comfortable working on fixed‑term assignments; valid practising certificate or equivalent for the region
