Experienced lawyer to join a continental European capital markets team as a Knowledge Lawyer focusing on EU capital markets (debt and/or equity) and listed company regulation. The role will sit within a global transactions practice and the firm’s Knowledge function, supporting lawyers across EU offices and beyond.

The post-holder will monitor EU regulatory developments (eg Prospectus, Market Abuse, Shareholders’ Rights, Transparency, sustainability reporting and related initiatives), translate those developments into practical guidance, create internal and client-facing content, and act as an internal adviser on complex points affecting capital markets and listed-company work.

The role combines substantive legal technical work, knowledge-product development (briefing notes, checklists, client alerts, training) and business development support (thought leadership, client seminars, industry engagement). Collaboration with transactional teams, local offices and wider knowledge/BD/innovation colleagues is central.

  • Qualified lawyer with strong academic credentials — qualification level appropriate to the chosen office (eg German first and second state exams or equivalent EU qualifying degree).
  • Significant experience as a fee-earner or knowledge/professional support lawyer in capital markets and listed-company regulation (equity and/or debt) within a transactional practice.
  • Proven ability to distil regulatory developments into practical guidance, draft clear internal and client-facing materials, and deliver training.
  • Strong commercial awareness, excellent drafting and communication skills, and an international outlook with ability to work across EU jurisdictions.
