Leading national law firm is seeking a Labor & Employment associate to join its New York office and work with a busy hospitality-focused practice. The role involves counseling and defense work for hospitality employers, including restaurants, boutique hotels and entertainment/nightlife venues.

Day-to-day work includes employment counseling and litigation on wage-and-hour, discrimination and other employment matters, with significant first-chair courtroom or hearing responsibility and regular handling of class/collective wage-and-hour litigation.

  • Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to practice in New York
  • Approximately 4–8 years of labor & employment experience
  • First-chair litigation experience on discrimination and/or wage-and-hour claims
  • Demonstrated experience with class/collective wage-and-hour litigation
  • Experience counseling on New York State and New York City employment laws; familiarity with NY hospitality wage rules preferred
  • Strong research, writing and oral advocacy skills
