The role involves counseling and defense work for hospitality employers, including restaurants, boutique hotels and entertainment/nightlife venues.
Day-to-day work includes employment counseling and litigation on wage-and-hour, discrimination and other employment matters, with significant first-chair courtroom or hearing responsibility and regular handling of class/collective wage-and-hour litigation.
- Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to practice in New York
- Approximately 4–8 years of labor & employment experience
- First-chair litigation experience on discrimination and/or wage-and-hour claims
- Demonstrated experience with class/collective wage-and-hour litigation
- Experience counseling on New York State and New York City employment laws; familiarity with NY hospitality wage rules preferred
- Strong research, writing and oral advocacy skills
