The role manages the lateral conflicts clearance process from submission through onboarding, implements ethical screens, drafts waivers and notices, and advises attorneys and recruiters on conflicts and professional conduct.
The position requires frequent interaction with candidates, partners and recruiting teams to resolve potential conflicts, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure compliance with rules of professional conduct across jurisdictions. The role also supports related intake, engagement-letter and outside counsel guideline processes.
- J.D. and active admission to the New York bar (or admission to the jurisdiction where the role is located)
- At least 2 years' experience in a large law firm or conflicts department handling lateral matters
- Strong knowledge of conflicts rules and professional conduct across jurisdictions
- Experience researching corporate ownership, SEC filings and complex transactional relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication, discretion, and the ability to manage high-volume, mission-critical workflows
