Short-term (4-5 month), full-time hybrid consultancy embedded with a large mining-sector organisation in Sydney. The role sits on a flexible legal resourcing platform run by a leading international law firm and offers immediate, hands-on employee-relations work.

The consultant will provide senior employment law advice across the employee lifecycle, manage complex industrial relations matters, engage with regulators, and update policies in line with legislative change. The role requires autonomy, strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to operate at leadership level within the client business.

  • Minimum 6 years' post-qualification experience in employment / industrial relations law
  • Deep knowledge of the Fair Work Act, NES, modern awards, discrimination law and WHS obligations
  • Experience dealing with employment regulators (e.g. Fair Work Ombudsman, IR Commission)
  • Proven ability to manage complex employment matters, influence stakeholders and simplify legal risk
  • Strong commercial awareness, analytical and communication skills; able to work autonomously
  • Current practising certificate not essential; right to live and work in Australia required
