Apply in confidence →Join a major international law firm’s consulting platform as a self-directed legal consultant focused on leveraged finance and private credit. You will take on medium-to-longer assignments (typically six months or more) supporting banks, asset managers, credit managers and other financial-services clients across leveraged and structured finance, private credit/direct lending, restructuring and related loan and debt capital markets work across EMEA.
The role suits a commercially minded lawyer who wants control over their schedule and career development while retaining access to firm training, knowledge resources and professional support. Assignments involve drafting and negotiating loan documentation, advising on acquisition financings, direct-lending structures and special-situations credit, and providing technical legal guidance on complex financings.
- 5–8 years post-qualification experience with a strong focus on leveraged finance and private credit
- Experience at a top-tier law firm for leveraged finance; recent in-house secondment or in-house experience desirable
- Proven drafting and negotiation experience on loan and acquisition finance, direct lending and restructuring matters
- Strong commercial judgement, project-management skills and the ability to integrate quickly into new teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
- UK practising certificate (or equivalent) and right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship)
