Managing Associate — Contentious Construction, Manchester

Senior contentious construction lawyer wanted to join a busy, market-leading construction and engineering disputes team in Manchester. The role focuses on leading high-value, complex disputes and project-stage advisory work for a range of commercial and public-sector clients.

You will run major construction and engineering matters across adjudication, court litigation and arbitration, lead multi-party ADR and mediations, and provide strategic commercial advice on construction contracts and consultant appointments. The role includes client relationship management, pitching for new mandates and supporting business development.

There is a strong emphasis on mentoring and team development — you will supervise junior lawyers, contribute to knowledge sharing and training, and help shape the practice's growth locally.

• Minimum 5+ years PQE in contentious construction / construction litigation.
• Proven experience of adjudication, TCC/high court litigation and arbitration; drafting pleadings, witness and expert statements.
• Strong stakeholder and client-management skills, with experience leading ADR and settlement strategy.
• Excellent document and case management, commercial drafting skills, and ability to supervise and mentor junior team members; appetite for business development.
