Senior role within a market-leading Health & Safety practice based in London, advising corporates, dutyholders and individuals on regulatory investigations, prosecutions and inquests. The team handles high‑profile and complex matters including workplace fatalities, serious injuries, corporate manslaughter, fire/building safety, environmental enforcement and sector-specific regulatory work (eg healthcare, construction, leisure and retail).

The post offers regular exposure to multi‑agency and cross‑border investigations, crisis management following incidents, defence of enforcement notices and strategic advisory work. You will work closely with colleagues across employment, corporate and reputation teams to provide joined‑up advice to clients.

This is an opportunity to lead matters, supervise junior lawyers and contribute to practice development while managing live regulatory and criminal caseloads.

  • 5–7 years' PQE in criminal and/or health & safety litigation at a leading practice.
  • Experience of police station and regulatory investigations and defending individuals in criminal proceedings; experience of Magistrates' and Crown Court procedures preferred.
  • Proven ability to provide strategic advice on serious workplace incidents, including fatalities and major injuries.
  • Strong legal drafting, knowledge of key H&S legislation and good academic record.
  • Experience supervising junior lawyers, managing cases from matter opening to billing, and strong financial discipline.
  • Commercial awareness, ability to identify business opportunities and support business development.
  • Excellent organisation, attention to detail, resilience under pressure and strong interpersonal skills at senior/client levels.
