Apply in confidence →Established international arbitration group in London is seeking a Managing Associate to support a busy caseload across investor‑state and commercial arbitrations administered under major institutional rules and ad hoc tribunals. The team handles cross‑border disputes across sectors such as energy, mining, construction, finance, telecoms and shipping, and regularly works with local counsel in multiple jurisdictions.
The role involves day‑to‑day case management, supervising junior lawyers, assisting with business development and client relationship management, and contributing to strategic file work including English High Court litigation connected to arbitration matters. The team welcomes candidates who combine strong technical arbitration skills with commercial judgment and a proactive, client‑focused approach.
- 7–8 years PQE in international arbitration or contentious practice.
- English law qualification and proven experience advising on English law in a contentious context.
- Track record of managing cases, supervising junior team members and running pieces of work with minimal partner input.
- Strong drafting and oral advocacy skills; experience of advocacy before tribunals is desirable.
- Commercial awareness, client‑facing confidence and demonstrable interest in business development and mentoring.
- Postgraduate qualification in international arbitration/dispute resolution and dedicated arbitration experience from a recognised firm preferred.
