Apply in confidence →Senior public procurement lawyer sought to join a busy Government & Public practice in Leeds, focusing on procurement litigation, judicial review and related public law disputes. The role combines strategic advisory work across the procurement lifecycle with hands-on litigation and urgent challenge work.
You will lead and supervise complex, time-sensitive matters, working alongside disputes, public law and procurement colleagues to provide commercially focused advice to public sector and regulated private sector clients. The role includes client development, team leadership and responsibility for case management and instructions to counsel.
The team acts for contracting authorities and bidders across sectors such as healthcare, transport, infrastructure, defence, energy and technology, and offers structured support for professional development and leadership progression.
- Qualified lawyer with significant PQE: c.6–8+ years for Managing Associate; 8+ years for Legal Director.
- Substantial experience of public procurement work, including managing procurement challenges and judicial review proceedings.
- Proven ability to lead complex, high‑pressure matters, manage teams and work to tight court and client deadlines.
- Strong commercial judgment, client-facing skills and a track record of business development within public law/procurement.
